And just cos its been more tahn 5 days since my last post (which is wad I promised myself to not go beyond!!!), a little update here...
Attended MiFW yesterday. Not that great.
Update on Garden's Fashion Week coming soon, and also introducing an awesome brand in town to y'all... Desigual babes. Desigual.
Shawn's going to be performing at Full House Ara Damansara tomorrow afternoon for an Aster Springs event.
Its his burfdae today!! Poor boi has been sick these past few days. =(
Because he was sick, he didn't manage to perform at KFC's Launch on Wednesday, so I didn't get to meet teddy bear Kuah Jen Han. =(
(This is where B starts screaming about how I slut Shawn off so I can meet a cute boi but I am officially declaring its not true k!!! He accepted the job before i knew KJH was performing wif him. Hmph.)
I also had an amazing roadtrip to Ipoh recently, where I got to un-emo from some sad emo-ing event in my life, then emo for the environment and how we're ruining Mother Nature, and hang out with muh beautiful homies...
Interviewing Soong Ai Ling this Sunday for a Celeb Watch feature, so watch this space for that. ;)
And ummm... I'm late for Shawn's party so I'm gonna get a-going.
Luv u peeps! Muacks muacks and wave ala Ris Low!

Simply Fabulous and other girl searches
Well, you've probably seen the million and one Simply Fabulous posts around the blogosphere.
I'm not really interested to write another post telling what went down during the event.
You can check out Blush-Berry's writeup, and Seraphsam's writeup.
What I do wanna talk about is the program itself.
When I first heard the concept, what attracted me of course was the GatronomicallyHugeGrandPrize.
RM10,000!
Trip to New York!
Entry into New York FASHION WEEK!
So of course, there are no shortages of girls lining up to join this compeition. Heck, during one of the shootings, even Sarah Lian was begging the 8TV crew to let her submit her application in.
And. Behind the scenes. I had a LOT of fun.
The girls are so whacky and down to earth. Everyone was so drawn by their force that we couldn't help but also become nutty altogether as well!
It was a refreshing atmosphere. TV media, writing media, celebs, BTS crew, brand ppl... we were all the same.
But but but... that being said...
How captivating was the show itself for you?
I have to say very honestly that a lot of the energy and excitement wasn't really captured on screen. As with most of the drama.
For instance, did you know Preeta was one of the most disliked contestants in there? Hahahah... I'm sure she can be a nice girl, but maybe a little bit too full on? The first time I met her was during the time when I was a mole, and she was really quite rude to me, as well as the other moles I heard.
Nalin won the GatronomicallyHugeGrandPrize and I do think she deserves it.
The show captured her for who she is. She's fun, yet mature, and speaks well. A combination that's extremely attractive and would do well to represent us when she attends the NY Fashion Week.
The rest of the girls are also absolute darlings, don't get me wrong. From this one show, I foresee myself forming friendships that will last despite us not meeting up often. =)
So yes. Do I think the show was a success? I think it was in terms of upping Maybelline's brand name. But all that money pumped into the show? I do think something more creative could've been churned out.
I'm honestly quite bored with the marketing ideas Malaysians come up with. In terms of short adverts, I think the advertising market is quite top with that. Some of the TV commercials make me LOL like nobody's business.
But reality shows. Long term marketing campaigns.
Sigh. All quite fail.
The only one that came remotely close to being entertaining was the recent everyoneconnects.net drama. Even then, I now think its quite lame since they got on bloggers to write weird writeups for them. Like. Don't even know what its really about nemore.
And all these stupid model searches/ hot girl searches that every TV show/ magazine publication/ organization (big AND small) are coming up with.
Sigh. *look to the heavens*
More creativity can or not?
Heck, even Mardi Gras One Utama is holding a Party Girl search.
*facepalm*
You want a good show? Give us drama. Sad, but true. Ppl like drama. Which is why shows like Fear Factor are so effin' awesome.
So instead of giving us another bimbotic RisLow kinda model search, add la a bit more pizzaz to our boring lives.
For example (which I'm mentioned on Twitter before).
Ask the high profile models of our industry, like Amber Chia, Deborah Henry, Stephanie Chai etc to be featured in a show "Smartest Model in Malaysia" or some crap name like that.
Then get them to spell scientific words, disect a frog, give a social project presentation bla bla bla.
Oklar. I won't take credit for that idea. I watched an American reality show that did that la. I jz tot it was so effin' funni. XD
Point being. There are so many more things you can doooooo laaaaaaaa....
We're bored. And its your job, advertising firms, to entertain us, cos you make shitloads of money doing it.
Alright. That's my two cents' worth.
Don't kill me. I'm just telling the truth on what is on everyone's mind.
Now. I just gotta wait and hope someone accomodates my wish.
P/S: You can check out the Maybelline behind the scene and Grand Finale shots here. All by Raynor da Man.

Twitter Media/ Twitterati
It was about a couple of months ago, during the hoo haa of the MTV VMA Awards to be exact, that I thought about the concept of Twitter Media.
I was fascinated with the drama between Taylor Swift and Kanye West and searched zestully for information, ANY information, of one of the most controversial bullying stories in the history of Hollywood.
So in my desperation to feed my gossip greed, I went through the Twitter updates of Perez Hilton, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus bla bla bla... All the ppl I knew who were at the VMAs itself, to see if they had written anything real time.
I was disappointed to see little to none info on it. That information, I felt, was way more interesting than reading the editted reports post-drama, which only came out, like, 2 hours later!
The idea formed in the back of my brain on the possibility of introducing Twitter Media to bridge the media reachability to the layman.
I mean really, think about it. How many people around you know what's going on in the entertaiment/ media sphere, unless they are in this sphere already?
I thought about the possibility of Twitterati. And last month, I asked Xavier, PR Manager of A Cut Above, to agree to invite two of my high profile Twitter friends, @aprilyim and @spinzer, to cover his A Cut Above Biggest Outlet Launch @ BSC.
Updates were given on the event. Pictures were taken and twitpic-ed. All real time.
Since then, I've tried covering some events, Twitterati style, and from the 20-40 average clicks I get per twitpic from my humble 150 followers, which meant a lot more were reading and noticing, just not clicking on the pictures, I began to figure that there was a lot more to Twitterati that was possible.
Anyway. The purpose of my cheong hei post is not to 'claim' that I 'discovered' Twitter Media. I'm quite sure some genius in the world has already claimed honour to this.
What I want to do is help my level best to propel the popularity of Twitter Media to the Malaysian market.
I myself, am nowhere near the crazy number of followers most of the high profile Twitterers are. So what I wanna do is compile a list of Twitter Media for me to refer to to recommend to some of my contacts, so I can convince them to invite Twitteratis to events.
Imagine.
Gossip. Real time.
Masses. Communicated.
Awareness of brands - people and products. Heightened.
Laymen. Twitterati.
Conclusion:
The masses are happy to get real time feed. Easily available.
The PR people are happy to get more awareness for the brands they are marketing.
The brands are happy because they get more publicity.
Its like. An amazingly simple solution of making so many ppl happy.
(Yes I'm idealistic. So sue me.)
And you can't say people aren't receptive.
Just from that one event, @spinzer has already been asked by Dennis Lau to bring 10 Twitterati to cover his album launch this coming December, and @aprilyim has also been asked by Baki Zainal to cover his and Kiehl's event at Gunung Nuang this coming November.
Awesome or what? ^^
So here's the thing. I have no idea who's interested to become a Twitterati in the first place. And if I do begin recommending this to people, I can't keep recommending these two people to cover each and every event! There are too many events that happen all the time, and just like any other publication, your follow list has a target group too right?
What I just need is for you to leave a comment stating your Twitter URL and your email address (so I can pass your email to the relevant PR people and they can contact you direct) if you're interested to be referred as a Twitterati.
I'll look through every Twitter page and recommend them accordingly. Or they can look through the list and contact you themselves.
Sigh. I dunno if I can do this. But I do think its an idea that can change the way news is presented to the world. And I'm just excited to be able to be a part of something I think that will be really big!
So please help spread the word. We can all do our little part to pioneer change for the better!
P/S: I'll be sending an email out to all the marketing managers of companies who's main marketing initiatives are lifestlye events in the Malaysian market once there are around 20 Twitterati in this list (what's the point of sending 5 names?). Please help to RT and spread the word? Thanks!
PP/S: Now I know it may seem totally belittling for you to even click on the 'comments' link to leave a comment here telling the world that you'd like to be involved in a project with some small nobody like me. (If u can't tell, sarcasm is dripping from my voice in buckets.)
Anyway, first off. I'm doing this to help the you. The world. Not me. Not erin. Who's Erin? I don't care, why should you? Haha.
Secondly, if having to link this to my website offends you, it may not be so obvious to you, but its the only website I have access to. Yup. Deprived, technodungu ppl don't have that many websites to upkeep.
If you're offering yours to promote this and gather names, sure, I'd be more than happy to send your link to the mkt mgrs. Email/ DM me, and we'll work sth out immediately.
Thirdly, if you also have a list of contacts in the market and you'd like to be the one to tell them about Twitter Media, honestly, please. Go ahead and do it. Like I said, I am not doing any of this for my gain. If you can help propel this, just do it!
Fourthly... You know what. There is no fourth. If you can't be arsed to 'lower' yourself and do something remotely proactive (I don't believe in rolling out red carpets in the cyberworld. I wouldn't know how to photoshop it in the first place.) Don't be on this list of recommended Twitter Media. *mutter* *grumble* *glare*
Alright. I am done ranting. I'll be sending out this link to the contacts next week.
Be on the list or be left behind.

Bitch Fest
Its not that I *want* to bitch about some of these so-called celebrities of ours in Malaysia.
I mean really. Not like your life means so much to me in the first place.
But when you get one who didn't just step on your feet, but your friends'?
That's not playing nais, bitch.
So I asked my friend to attend an event with me. One of those big hoo haa ones that will be shown on TV, featured in magazines blah blah blah.
And of course they have hosts right?
So I brought my friend to meet the male host cos she wants a picture with him.
But of course, it would be rude to not include the female one in the picture. Purely cos she's sitting/ standing right next to him.
So we politely asked. And she reluctantly stands.
Already I was frowning cos I wondered what's up her ass.
But then... Another celebrity walks past and my friend asks for a picture with her right?
And this female host then said to that celeb. In front of my my friend mind you.
"You don't have to take a picture with them if you don't want to, you know."
WAHRAOEH.
But of course, she herself, the fehmwhoring bitch, didn't refuse to take a pic with us.
And me. The blurcase. Didn't even know till my friend told me later. So I still forced them to take a pic together.
I shud've loudly said, "No no, we don't want a pic with you really. Just want the dude, so move aside thanks."
FIRST OF ALL.
Its none of ur friggin' business whether another celeb wants to take a picture with her fans.
Even if it was some kind of private joke between the both of you, its just plain unclassy of you to say that in front of your/ her fans.
SECOND OF ALL.
Do you really think you're such hot stuff that you're invincible to this kind of backlash??? For goodness sake, you're not even that big to begin with. And your image is more slutty than anything else. And don't think I haven't heard of ur brat temperaments. Your reputation proceeds you and the Malaysian market isn't forgiving once tantrum stories like these get out.
*mutter*
*grumble*
*glare*
Bah.
SMALL TIME CELEBS.

Emerge Harajuku-ness and Xpax Blackberry Party
So Emerge is around the corner, with the finale in November. Hundreds of competitions, but the one dear to my heart is, as always, the Fashion Competition.
This year I was asked to be a judge for the semi-finals, together with Wei Tieng, Designer Extraordinaire, and Amirul, writer for Tell Magazine.
To be honest, I'm really quite impressed with this years' participants. Not one of them came unprepared. Not one of them bugged me with inconsequential questions.
They were all professional, efficient, and methodological. And the results were pretty impressive!
Judged on makeup, hairstyling, fashion, and overall image.
Guess which teams got into the finals? ;)
Coincidentally, it was held as the same day as Xpax's Blackberry party. So off we went for some Blackberry loving.
Shawn so happened to be performing that night, so I went as both media and his manager. Haha...
Due to the large open air compound, the atmosphere wasn't as electric as the ACA BSC Launch, but he was awesome nonetheless.
Pity about the attendance though. Xpax only gave out invites to those who pre-register for a BB. I think they should've opened it to the public, or partnered with a magazine.
A large crowd, after all, does give a better atmosphere.
Instead, the crowd was quite patheticly small, with the majority of the attendees...
Bloggers. From Nuffnang.
I kid you not.
And they were all given VVIP invites summore........
Some of the performances were actually quite good! Joe Flizzow seriously reminded me of Jay Z. I only found out later that he IS known as the Malaysian Jay Z. Haha!
One half of Lapsap DJ-ed for us. Awesome awesome techno music.
Arabyrd was so weird looking. I thought she was a he-she at first.
Until she started dancing.
And she suddenly became. Oh. So. Delectable. Really!
Other pics of the night..
Bai.
